Dewang Mehta National Education Award for Dr. Rohit Mehtani 
 

 Dr. Rohit Mehtani with his Dewang Mehta National Education Award (Business School) for the "Best Professor in Strategy Studies" conferred on him on 20th December 2019. This is his second Dewang Mehta National Education Award (Business School), the first one having been conferred on him in December 2009 for 'Best Professor in International Business'.

A book on Food Security by Dr. Sachin Kumar Sharma becomes the Best seller at 11th Ministerial Conference of the WTO in Buenos Aires.

 

 A book on Food Security by Dr. Sachin Kumar Sharma becomes the Best seller at 11th Ministerial Conference of the WTO in Buenos Aires. Dr. Sharma is an associate professor at the Centre for WTO studies of IIFT. The book "The WTO and Food Security", published by Springer, deals with public stockholding policies of selected developing countries from the perspective of WTO rules. The book also makes an assessment of the provisions of the Agreement on Agriculture (AoA) and how they could hamper the efforts of countries to address the challenges of food security.

The book makes a case for amending the provisions of the AoA to make WTO rules just and fair for the millions of people suffering from hunger and malnutrition in developing countries. It deals with food security problems in 12 countries, including China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey and Zimbabwe and steps needed to mitigate the problem of hunger and undernourishment.

The wide popularity of the book at the Conference was extensively reported in the media. The leading newspapers and the internet blogs highlighted the attention that the book caught of the delegates of the member countries.

 

Panel Discussion - Enhancing Export Competitiveness of Indian MSMEs through e-commerce

  Centre for MSME Studies has its understanding with Industry Associations and Export Promotion Councils towards jointly working on various activities towards promoting exports of MSME units.Current report on "Exploring Potential of E-Commerce for Retail Exports of India MSMEs in Manufacturing Sector" an outcome of CSME-IIFT and FICCI-MSME division was released on 30th May 2017 by Shri S.N.Tripathi, AS & DC, Ministry of MSME at FICCI.

Dr. Saswati Tripathi as a panel speaker in 5th manufacturing supply chain summit held in Mumbai
Dr. Saswati was invited to participate as a panel speaker in 5th manufacturing supply chain summit held in Mumbai which was a part of Prime Minister"s initiative of Make in India. The summit was participated by more than 300 corporate professions in Supply Chain. She was one among the two experts invited from the academia to this summit.
