Dr. Vijay P. Ojha is
currently ECGC Chair Professor at the
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT),
New Delhi. Prior to this, he worked as a
Professor of Economics at the Institute
of Management Technology (IMT),
Ghaziabad, India, for more than ten
years. Dr. Ojha obtained his Ph.D. on
evaluation of trade liberalization in
India using the Computable General
Equilibrium (CGE) modelling methodology,
from the Delhi School of Economics,
University of Delhi, in 1997.
Subsequently, in 2004, he was awarded
the Commonwealth Academic Staff
Fellowship for a post-doctoral tenure at
the Environment Department, University
of York, United Kingdom, to work on,
"Carbon Emissions Abatement Strategies
and Poverty Alleviation in India".
He has more than three decades'
experience in teaching and research. His
area of expertise in teaching lies in
wide-ranging subjects which include:
Applied General Equilibrium,
Macroeconomics, Econometric Methods and
Operational Research. In research, he
specializes in CGE modelling applied to
trade, human capital, inclusive growth,
and climate change.

Guest Professor at Centre for
International Trade and Development (CITD),

Dr. Ojha has delivered many invited
lectures for prestigious host
institutions, which include the World
Bank, IDFC and the European Climate
Foundation (ECF). He has also
successfully executed several
international research projects with
their final reports translating
fruitfully into policy advice, and has
numerous publications in national and
international journals.
