Funded Research Projects
Compendium of India’s Trade Portal, an initiative towards trade facilitation by Government of India. (http://trade.iift.ac.in).
Salient features of the trade portal include:
- Classification of goods at country-specific disaggregated HS levels (6, 8, 9, 10, etc.).
- Updated tariff data for India, ASEAN and India’s top 25 import & export destinations.
- SPS / TBT requirements for India and the top 25 export destinations.
- Search criteria based on HS codes and/or product name.
My role: Complete system analysis & design of the portal, database design, implementation and deployment, portal upgradation, etc.
Status: Delivered
Duration: The portal was designed in 2 years and maintained for 1 year before handed over to FIEO.

1) LMS (Learning Management System)
Role: Lead role in planning, software selection and implementation.
Project Details: LMS is used by eLearning dept. for content delivery and user (student) tracking system. It includes facilities like: chat, discussions boards, email system, content delivery, etc.
Platform: Win NT, MS SQL-Server, ASP, JavaScript.
Organization: IMT Ghaziabad.
2) www.showmemyorder.com (Order Tracking System in Supply Chain)
Clients: Kamala Dials & Devices Pvt. Ltd.; manufacturers of dials for Swiss watch brands such as OMEGA, TISSOT, Titan, etc.
Role: Consultant in process design, technology planning and implementation.
Project Details: It is a B2B web-based order tracking system for big watch manufacturing companies with various flexible options and security features. Company representatives can log to site for placing the new order, checking status of their existing order, and many related such activities.
Technology Platform: ASP, SQL-Server, Win NT.

3) www.seekexperts.com (Portal for Distance Learning)
Client: US-based organization (Identity confidential)
Role: Consultant in process design, system design, and implementation.
Project Details:It is a web-based solution for distance learning with users like students, subject experts and study centers. One can register with site to avail the facility of online question posting to different experts, database driven search of different type of questions & study material. One can also register as an expert or as study center. Other features include rating mechanism for expert & study centers.

5) Network Management System (NMS)
Role: Part of system design & implementation team of VSAT Multiplexer for Department of Telecommunication, Govt. of India. Major role was in designing control flow, design of various frame formats, and implementation in embedded & application end of the system.
Project Details: NMS was used to configure devices (like MODEM, MUX, ODU etc.), checking status of various peripherals / related hardware and to pool network stations for various kind of alarms/Traps. The role of the software system was to remotely control Telecom switch.
Technology Platform: Win NT, VC++, Access 2000, C for 80C188 based compiler.
Organization: PCL.
6) VSAT Multiplexer
Role:Initialization routines for Audio Codec AC4810xA-C; Implemented RAM test software (assembly); sync gain loss procedure in Aztec C.
Project Details: VSAT MUX is a low bit rate Voice/Fax/Data Multiplexer. It provides user programmable flexible mix of voice/fax and voice band data channels at aggregate link rate of 112kbps on RS 449 interface. It can multiplex up to 10 voices cum fax data channel and one Engineering Service Channel. The Multiplexer transforms Analog Voice, Fax or Voice band Data signals into digital PCM data stream.
Platform: 80C188, VoPP (Voice over Packet Processor DSP chip), C–86 Compiler and A - 86 Assembler.
Highlights: Hands on experience in using AC4810xA-C VOPP. Studied monitor program for Intel 80c188 (Initialization), studied HDLC protocol. Studied A-86 Assembler and C-86 Compiler.
